New details are surfacing about the unfortunate death of Friends actor Matthew Perry. Shockwaves were sent across the industry when he was found dead inside his hot tub at his LA house. The high dosage of ketamine in his body raised eyeballs. Police have now finally cracked the case, and as many as five people, including his assistant, have been arrested for conspiring against him, which led to the fatal overdose. To begin with, Matthew’s assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, is one of the accused in the case and has reportedly pleaded guilty. She worked with two doctors and provided him with ketamine worth $50,000 in the weeks before his death. In four days before his death, she injected him with at least 27 shots of ketamine, which led to his untimely death.


As per BBC, US Attorney Martin Estrada shared, “These defendants took advantage of Mr Perry’s addiction issues to enrich themselves. They knew what they were doing was risking great danger to Mr Perry, but they did it anyway.”

Matthew Perry’s assistant and two doctors who committed the crime intended to profit from his history of drug addiction. One of the doctors, Salvador Plasencia, allegedly wrote in a leaked text message, “I wonder how much this moron will pay.”


The five people involved in the drug case are – Kenneth Iwamasa, Salvador Plasencia, Mark Chavez, Erik Fleming, and the “so-called” Ketamine queen, Jasveen Sangha. While the former three have pleaded guilty, the latter two were arrested on Thursday and pleaded not guilty.


Matthew Perry passed away on October 28, 2023. He was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles after a week. The funeral was attended by his parents and his stepfather, along with his Friends co-star.


As per reports, one of the leading stars on Friends had informed police about the ketamine infusion therapy Matthew was undergoing before his death.
